Daughter of Jasper and Mattie (Harris) Starmer. In 1926 the family moved to North Bend, NE where her father was a police officer for 14 years. She was a 1940 graduate of North Bend High School. They soon moved to Fremont where she worked at Kresges Dime Store, Palace Ice Cream and Dr. Merrick's office.
Eileen (Starmer) married Richard "Dick" Ranslem May 31, 1942 at Papillion, NE. The couple then moved to Morse Bluff, NE and lived there for 5 years. In Dec. of 1947 they moved to Fremont. She was an over 50 year member of First United Methodist Church in Fremont. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church at North Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard "Dick" Ranslem on March 11, 2004; 2 brothers: Floyd and Dale Starmer and 1 sister: Ione Sumner.
Survivors include: 2 sons: Larry Ranslem and wife Jan Ranslem of Hooper and Steven and wife Dieseree Ranslem of Winslow, NE. brother-in-law: Raymond Ranslem and 2 sister-in-laws: Geraldine Starmer and Marcy Bowman all of Fremont. 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
