Asa A. Roberts, 76, of 330 Second Avenue, Waynesburg, died after a long illness at 11:55 p.m. Friday, July 10, 1970.
A son of the late James K. Roberts and Martha Ann Cooper Roberts, he was born May 7, 1894 in Center Township, near Rogersville, where he resided during his early life. He also made his home at Brave for several years and for the past four years had resided at Waynesburg with his sister, Mrs. Jane Gump.
Mr. Roberts was a retired farmer and was affiliated with the Christian Church.
He married twice. His first wife, Blanche Custard Roberts, died in 1916. His second wife Jennie Martin Roberts, died in 1957. Surviving are a daughter by his first marriage, Mrs. Wayne (Dorothy) Zimmerman, of Youngstown, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Arleigh (Minnie) Wood, of Waynesburg, R. D. 1, and Miss Zana Martin, of West Finley; a stepson, Lee Martin, of Waynesburg, R. D. 1; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jane Gump, of Waynesburg.
A son and a grandson by his first marriage are deceased, as are three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held Tuesday with burial in Rosemont Cemetery.
