Bruna Augusta Baden, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. L.C. Lentz, was born January 4, 1899 at West Burlington, Ia., and died December 1, 1948 at the age of 49 years, 10 months and 27 days.
She was baptized January 29, 1899. In her childhood she moved with her parents to Gothenburg, Neb., where she received religious instruction and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Christ Lutheran church on Palm Sunday, April 5, 1916.
Her first three years of high school were at Gothenburg. In 1916, she moved with her parents to the Byron community, and completed her high school course in 1917 at Deshler. She was the last surviving member of the class.
She taught school for seven years and on September 28, 1924, when she was united in marriage to Arthur C. Baden, and four children were born to this union. Her father, the Rev. L.C. Lentz had officiated at her baptism, confirmation and marriage.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louis Meyer and Margaret; two sons, Roland and Franklin; one son-in-law; a grandchild; her parents; a sister, Mrs. Louis Allerman; three brothers, Fred, Ludwig and Alwin Lentz; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Lutheran church, near Byron Sunday, with the Rev. K.J. Graf in charge. Interment was in St. John's cemetery.
