LUTHER V. SAXTON, 88, a resident of the Oxford Manor Nursing home, Oxford, Pa. formerly of Canton RD 2, died Monday, Nov. 28, 1988 at the Southern Chester County Medical Center, Jennersville, Pa. Mr. Saxton was born July 28, 1900 at Granville Summit a son of Henry and Cora VanHorn Saxton. He was a former school teacher in Bradford and Armstrong Counties and a farmer. Mr. Saxton retired in 1965 from the Swayze Folding box Co., Canton. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ in Canton. Surviving are two sons; Ronald L. of West Grove, Pa. and Robert W. of Elmira; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Snowalter of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Martin of Granville Summit; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. His wife, the former Florence Brooks died Oct. 28, 1984. The funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Morse and Kleese Funeral Home, 40 N. Center St., Canton with the Rev. David B. Morris officiating. Interment will be in Granville Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be directed to the Canton Church of Christ Memorial Fund in Mr. Saxton's memory.
