Mrs. Mary Elmina Melinda Champion, 95, of Ellijay died July 28 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. Funeral services were scheduled July 30, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Revs. A.J. Clayton, Russell Burt, Marvin Young, Chris Chastain, and Paul Richards officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Junior and Margaret Champion of Shady Dale; Ermel and Lillian Champion, Billy and Thelma Champion, Freeman Champion, Leeman and Mary Alice Champion, all of Ellijay; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
