Mrs. Thelma Baker died Sunday, May 20, at the Abilene Memorial Hospital. She was 69 years of age.

Mrs. Baker was born July 2, 1909, in Abilene, the daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth Shephard. She was a graduate of the Abilene High School with the class of 1927.

She was married to Bill Hartman and all of their married life was spent in Abilene. On June 25, 1948, she was married to Charlse Baker. Most of their married life was spent in Abilene. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1979.

For several years Mrs. Baker was employed by the Duckwall Western Merchandise Co. The Family home is at 304 S. W. Second St.

Mrs. Baker is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Colette) Baber of Fairbury, Neb; three sons, Eldon Hartman of Canton, Norman Hartman of Abilene and Charles Baker, Jr. of Halstead, seven grandchildren and two cousins, Mrs. Esther Owsley of Bonner Springs and Mrs. Evelyn Hemirich of Denver, Colo.

Services will be Wednesday, May 23, from the Danner Funeral Home at 10 a.m. The Rev. Harold Park will officiate. Interment will be in the Abilene Cemetery.
