Born July 25, 1923 in Franklin, Town of Herman, Dorothy was a daughter of the late George and Bertha Wangemann Meggers. She attended Country Elementary School and graduated from Central High School in 1941.
On July 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Gerhard R. Roethel in Sheboygan. They were married for 48 years before Gerhard preceded her in death on November 8, 1995.
Dorothy was a homemaker who also previously worked at the Leverenz Shoe Co. and Badger Freight Ways. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild and the Alter Society.
She is survived by her two sons, Ronald (fiancé Karen Walsh) of Port Washington and Robert and Laurie of rural Sheboygan Falls; four grandchildren, Erich and Quintin of Sheboygan Falls, Tanya and special friend, Mike Kelly, of Plymouth and Corey of rural Sheboygan Falls; one great-granddaughter, Maleena Kelly; a sister-in-law, Roma Roethel of Sheboygan Falls.
Besides her husband, Gerhard, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services for Dorothy held January 29, 2010 at St. John United Church of Christ, 13th and Lincoln Avenue. The Rev. Gregory Whelton, Pastor, will officiate. Interment in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.
