Carol Zeinstra, 73, Pipestone, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 at Pipestone County Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 14 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. J. Rollin Haynes officiating.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren, Jeni Tostenson, Sara Moser, Jeffrey Moser, Jessica Zeinstra, Tasha Zeinstra, Lauren Zeinstra, Nathan Zeinstra, Tracie Moser, Tara Zeinstra and Brittany Zeinstra.
Interment was in New Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.
Carol Ann Zeinstra was born to Merlye Henry and Elsie Emma Augusta (Schierholz) Raph on Oct.19, 1936 in Holland where she was raised and attended grade school. She then attended Pipestone High School, graduating in 1954.
She married Harvey Zeinstra on Oct. 29, 1954 at the Presbyterian Church in Holland. Following their marriage they resided in Holland where she was employed at Taubert's Grocery Store. In 1958 they moved to Pipestone and she began working at the Pipestone Federal Savings and Loan Association where she worked until 1960. Carol then stayed busy raising her family and doing the bookkeeping for her husband's trucking business.
Harvey preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1995. Following his death, she continued to reside in Pipestone. In August 2009 Carol was diagnosed with lung cancer.
On Sunday, Dec. 6 she was admitted to the Pipestone County Medical Center.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pipestone.
She is survived by her children, Sherry (Rod) Pearson, Omaha, Neb.; Harlan (Mary) Zeinstra, Boulder, Colo.; DeeDee Zeinstra, Kathy (Dan) Moser, and Larry Zeinstra and his special friend, Pam Bush, all of Pipestone; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey and one brother, Eldo Raph.
