Daniel Thomas Whitlock (1879-1968), son of Peter William and Mary Ann (Thomas) Whitlock, was Ocie Akers' first husband. Daniel and "Ellie" were married March 05, 1899 Montgomery County, Virginia. They issued Lawrence Newton, Sallie Ethel, and Donald Thomas Whitlock. It appears that Daniel and "Ellie" became divorced. My grandmother referred to Ocie Ola as "Ellie" as her formal name is said to be Ocie Ola Ellen Yopp.

She married Noah Webster Akers February 13, 1911 in Mercer County, West Virginia. This union issued six (6) known children.
