Dr. John M. Anderson was educated in the common schools of his neighborhood and later attended Normal University, at Normal, Ill., and Baker's Business College, Bloomington. He was subsequently in partnership with his father until his marriage, when he took up the study of dentistry with Dr. J. M. Crigler, of Saybrook. In 1897 he graduated from the Northwestern Dental School at Chicago. Since that time he has followed the practice of his profession in Saybrook.
On August 22, 1893, Dr. Anderson married Maude Fannie Crigler, who was born in Saybrook, Ill., and is the eldest daughter of Dr. J. M. Crigler and Love (Ballard) Crigler. A sketch of the life of the former appears elsewhere in this volume. Dr. Anderson is a Republican in politics. He is one of the most prominent citizens of his locality, enjoying the respect and confidence of the entire community. He is fond of outdoor diversions and is an enthusiastic motorist.
