Rosemary "Rosie" Cox, 84, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, surrounded by her family.
Graveside service: Noon Wednesday in Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Arlington Funeral Home.
Rosemary was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Arlington to J.B. and Willie Mae Anderson. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1942 and attended Texas Tech University and North Texas Agricultural College, now UTA. She married her high school sweetheart, Harold P. Cox, in November 1947. They remained married until his death in 1987. In 1989 she married John Skidmore and he remained her loving companion until her death. Rosie was a member of United First United Methodist Church of Arlington and the Wesley Progressors Sunday School Class for over 70 years.
The family wishes to give special thanks to her caregivers, Sylvie, Chelsea, Loretta and Chantay, and the staff at Cooper Villa Assisted Living Facility, Community Hospice and Home Away from Home Hospice for the love and care they showed her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cox, and sister, Marjorie McDonald.
Survivors: Children, Carol Cox Cooper, Larry Cox and wife, Pat, Steve Cox and wife, Sue, Danny Cox and wife, Elizabeth; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Herman Anderson of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Ruth Reddy of Breckenridge and Elaine Huckabee of Bedford; one niece; and one nephew.
