ACWORTH – Dana Sue Kornegay, 49, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate with Mr. John Allman IV and the Rev. Billy Wilson officiating. The family will meet friends from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street.

Miss Kornegay, daughter of the late Dan and Sue Allman Kornegay was born in Macon and later moved to Gadsden, AL. She was a graduate of Sanford University in Birmingham earning her degree in nursing. A Registered Nurse, she had also obtained CCRN certification. Miss Kornegay had been employed at hospitals in Alabama, Kennesaw and Emory University. She was an avid fan and supporter of University of Alabama Football.

Survivors include her brothers Terry C. (Kathy) Kornegay of Portland, OR and Garry ( Judy) Kornegay of Bolingbroke; her sister, Lisa (Stephan) Wilcox of Sugar Hill; four nieces; four nephews; seven great nieces and great nephews; her much beloved aunt, LaRose Allman of Virginia Beach, VA.

Dana was an ardent supporter of Orphanage Emmanuel (a Christian orphanage) in Honduras providing school and hygiene supplies, playground equipment and books. To continue her work with the orphans of Honduras, contributions may be made to Team Honduras, P. O. Box 272, Bolingbroke, GA 31004…all contributions are tax deductible.
