RITES SET FOR MERLE P. JONES
Services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Bluff Avenue Baptist church, Indianapolis, for Merle Preston Jones, 84, of St. Petersburg, Florida, who died Thursday in St. Petersburg. He was the father of Mrs. Eugene (Valeata) Sullivan, of Shelbyville, and Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Lewis of St. Paul.
Burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Little and Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove, in charge.
Born in Decatur County August 17, 1904, Mr. Jones was the son of John Preston and Flora B. (Shipp) Jones. Surviving with the two daughters here are his wife Blanche; three other daughters; four brothers and sisters, including Orval Jones of Shelbyville and Dora Monroe of R.R.4; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ethel McDonald and Mrs. Zella Paul of St. Paul and a half-brother Roy Jones of Milford; and 20 grandchildren.
