Donald Joseph Messerschmidt, Sr., 71, of Stockton died of cancer Saturday at home. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Mr. Messerschmidt was a resident of Stockton for 28 years. Mr. Messerschmidt was the 1st Lt. bombardier with the Air Force. He was vice president with Moore Equipment Co. prior to becoming a regional controller for Ingersol Rand Corporation in San Leandro. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors: wife, children; son and daughter in law, two grandchildren; daughter, two grandchildren.
Services: vigil, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, 7676 Shoreline Drive.
Mass, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Church of the Presentation, 1515 W. Benjamin Holt Drive. Visitation: noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Committal: Cherokee Mausoleum.
