James Hamilton Boling • Memorial ID: 9703472 – James is Docia's stepfather – she never lived in his home. Before Docia's mother (Sarah) married James, both Docia and her mother lived with Sarah's parents (William and Nancey Plemmons Case). After Sarah married James, Docia continued to live with her grandparent – so, if anyone was a father to her, it was her grandfather.

Docia's biological father is unknown, and from what I have gleaned from various family members, he will remain that way. Docia's surname is her mother's maiden name.
