Going Home services for William Clifton Tyler will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2002 in Mount Hope Baptist Church with the Reverend Bobby Bonds officiating.

Mr. Tyler, 76 of Oakdale, entered eternal life on Thursday, December 5, 2002 in Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was a life long resident of Oakdale, a Deacon and very active member in Mount Hope Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and retired from Reichhold Chemical with thirty-nine years of service where he was a Maintenance Supervisor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Ella Tyler, one son, Larry Shelton Tyler, and one brother, Clyde B. Tyler.

He leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-four years, Mary Helen Johnson Tyler of Oakdale. There were married on October 16, 1948 in McGee Mission Church.

He also leaves behind three sons, Terry Gene Tyler of Oakdale, Jerry Wayne Tyler of Alexandria, and Gary Weldon Tyler of Monroe; one sister, Pearl Tyler Foyil of Oakdale, ten granddaughters, three great grandsons and four great granddaughters.

Pallbearers that are honored to serve will be Gerald Ballard, Tommy Ballard, Ronny Barnhart, Brad Collins, Curtis Collins and John Collins.

Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Jack Bonds, Wayne Earl, Charlie Gordon, Brian Johnson, Lee Manuel, Phihllip Sharp, Charles Strother and C.W. Strother.

Burial will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Graveside services will be conducted by Fort Polk United States Honor Guards.
