A.A. Bernhardt, 56, resident of this section for more than 50 years, died at the family home, three miles northeast of Olney. He had lived here since his marriage. Services were held at the home followed by rites at the Olney Lutheran Church. Rev. P.J. Klenk, pastor of the church was in charge. Mr. Bernhardt came to this section with his father, W.M. Bernhardt from Washington County when he was four years old and had lived here since. He had been a successful farmer for many years.
Survived by his wife; 11 children - Mrs. Henry Seipert; Elsie, Pauline, Helen, Ruth, Margaret, Johnie, Alvin, Oscar, Louis, and August Jr.; five sisters, Mrs. Ben Schlegel, Mrs. Charles Duncan; Mrs. Fred Pollei; Mrs. Otto Krueger; and Mrs. Ernest Agricola; one brother William Bernhardt.
