Born to John O'Sullivan and Katherine 'Kate' Logan O'Sullivan, the youngest of 6 children he was always known as Jack. John grew up in Berkeley, CA, raised by his Uncle Johnny Logan after the death of his mother. Johnny Logan took the family back to Berkeley after the untimely death of John's father in Monroe, MI.

He attended Berkeley High School and went on to Jesuit School in Palo Alto, CA about 1945. In 1947 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for two years. After a stint with Ghirardelli Chocolate Co., he re-enlisted in the CA Air National Guard where he remained until retirement in 1984. He was with the 144th Tactical Fighter Wing out of Hayward, CA, later reassigned to the 129th Special Operations Wing. He retired a Colonel.

He met Peg Brennan in Concord, CA and married her in 1957. They raised 3 children in Fremont, CA and moved to Turlock, CA after his children were all grown with his wife Peg where he lived until his death.

Died at Memorial Hospital, Modesto, CA at the age of 63, surrounded by his family. One of the last things he told us was he couldn't show up Jesus by dying on Good Friday, and held out till Saturday the 15th. "Nothing is more sure than death and taxes."

A Mass and services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church before internment in Turlock.
