Mr. West, 84, of the Bethel Community passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in his residence with his family near his side.
Lenox was the treasurer for Bethel Baptist Church for over forty years. He drove a school bus for Plainview School for thirty-four years, where he was loved by the children and known for bringing cold drinks on the last day of school.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Vernie West of the Bethel Community; two sons, L.J. West and his wife Mary, and Franklin West and his wife Laura, all of Oakdale; two daughters, Glenell Hargrove and Vernell Gilbert and her husband Bruce, all of Oakdale; one sister, Lonia Fontenot of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Bethel Baptist Church on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2008 from 6 p.m. until time of service on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 at 3 p.m.
