Funeral services for Mr. Lenox West will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2008 in the Bethel Baptist Church, Bethel Community with Brother Brad Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Oakdale under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. West, 84, of the Bethel Community passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 in his residence with his family near his side.
Lenox was the treasurer for Bethel Baptist Church for over forty years. He drove a school bus for Plainview School for thirty-four years, where he was loved by the children and known for bringing cold drinks on the last day of school.
He was preceded in death by one infant daughter.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-two years, Vernie West of the Bethel Community; two sons, L.J. West and his wife Mary, and Franklin West and his wife Laura, all of Oakdale; two daughters, Glenell Hargrove and Vernell Gilbert and her husband Bruce, all of Oakdale; one sister, Lonia Fontenot of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
