FATHER OF COACH LUNDGREN IS DEAD
Marengo, Oct. 4 – Elmer Lundgren, father of Carl Lundgren, well known base ball pitcher and athlete and at present athletic coach at the University of Illinois, was found dead in bed at his home here at 10 o'clock Sunday morning.
Mr. Lundgren was 77 years old and had been in failing health for several years. Sunday morning he complained of feeling ill and got up at 7 o'clock and took a dose of soda. He went back to bed and at 10 0'clock was found dead by Mrs. Lundgren. His death is believed to have been due to heart trouble.
He is survived by a widow and two daughters, Mrs. Jesse Geithman, of Aurora, and Mrs. F. Blum, of Chicago, and one son, Carl Lundgren, of the University of Illinois.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
