Maxine M. Brandin, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away with her family by her side Monday, April 11, 2011 at Senior Rehab Center.

Maxine was born December 17, 1920 in Port Arthur, Texas to Willis Hankley Dearing and Ivy Block Dearing. She was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and homemaker. She loved growing fruits and vegetables in her garden. She also enjoyed baking and cooking big family dinners, and she loved her church family and friends at Val Verde Baptist Church. She cherished her grandchildren, taking care of them when they were young while their parents were working. Above all she loved Jesus.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Lee Brandin, six sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include her son, Wayman L. Brandin and wife, Donna of Port Arthur; sister, Irma Ward of Mauriceville; brothers, Dan Dearing of Center, and Allan Dearing and wife, Peggy of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Blake Brandin, BreeAnn Abshire and husband, Heath, Brent Brandin and wife, Britni; great-grandchildren, Bryson Brandin, Baylee Brandin, Brayden Brandin, Hunter Abshire, Hanna Abshire, and Connor Brandin.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Rick Koonce officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
