Bonnie Abbi, of Lebanon Hill, Springfield, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Aug 23, 2008 at her residence. A native of Windsor Canada, she was a graduate of the University of Alberta and a member of the River of Life Church. She was very active in many organizations to help autistic children. She home schooled her children for several years and became a United States citizen on July 11, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Helen Nickle Stewart of Windsor Canada. Survivors include her husband, Dr Atam V Abbi; her daughter, Marisha Margaret Abbi, all of Springfield; two brothers, Sandy (Cathy) Steward of Windsor, Canada, and Gordon (Cindy) Stewart of Guelph, Canada; and brother-in-law, Arun (Polly) Abbi of Calgary, Canada.

Funeral services will be held at noon, (today) Wednesday, Aug 27 at the River of Life Church, with Rev Troy Shelton, the church pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Cocanougher, Bob Mastin, Grant Jones, Leon Smith, Gary Spalding and Jim Crouch. Contributions may be made to the River of Life Church or the American Cancer Society. Carey and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
