Edna E. Derr, 70, of Musser Lane, Watsontown, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Gate House Hospice where she had been admitted Thursday.

Born October 11, 1939 in Delaware Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Dorothy M. (Gray) Simon. She married Donald L. Derr, Sr. on May 17, 1957 and they have celebrated 52 years of marriage.

She retired from Canteen Company, Williamsport and had been a supervisor at Grumman Allied Industries, Montgomery earlier.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 251, Montgomery and a member of First United Methodist Church, Muncy.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished times spent with her family.

Surviving besides her husband are three daughters and sons-in-law: Laura M. and Lester Foreman, Watsontown; Cindy S. and Thomas Walters, Picture Rocks; Helen E. and Craig June, Muncy; two sons and daughters-in-law: Donald L., Jr. and Cynthia Derr, Muncy Hills; and Charles E. and Wendy Derr, Watsontown; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Donald Simon, Pennsdale and Jerry Simon, New Columbia.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Lee Derr in 2007 and two brothers: Edwin and Roy Simon.

Friends are invited to call at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown from 6 to 8 PM Thursday and at First United Methodist Church, 602 South Market Street, Muncy from noon to 1:00 PM Friday where the funeral will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Michael Gardy, her pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Elimsport Cemetery.
