NEW ALBANY - Opal Lollar Decanter, 77, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at her residence. She was born Feb. 24, 1932, in Lee County to John Lollar and Ocie Lollar. She loved flowers and working in her garden.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany with Bro. Glenn Hudspeth officiating. Burial will be in Flatrock Cemetery at Blue Mountain.
She is survived by her husband, Alvis Decanter of New Albany; two daughters, Debbie Hamblin (Jerry) of New Albany and Peggy Michelle Decanter of Saltillo; three sons, Alan Wayne Decanter (Mary) of Ingomar, Mickey Decanter (Tanya) of Tupelo and Terry Decanter (Sherry) of Blue Mountain; one stepson, Tom Decanter of Indiana; one sister, Florence Johnson of Colorado; two brothers, Robert Lollar of Texas and Jay Lollar of Potts Camp; eight grandchildren, Connie Meeks (Robert), Jeramy Hamblin (Michelle), Kevin Hamblin (Jessica), Jeno Decanter (Amanda), Jennifer Bullock (Brent), Nicholas Decanter (Tina), Jim Bishop and Patrick Brown; 14 great-grandchildren, Austin Meeks, Dalton Meeks, Tyler Hamblin, Meagan Hamblin, Trey Decanter, Sara Beth Decanter, Olivia Decanter, Haley Bullock, Allie Bullock, Tyler Decanter, Mason Decanter, Eli Decanter, Kinsley Brown and Payton Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timothy Jay Decanter; two sisters, Mary Decanter and Mamie Decanter; and two brothers, Joe Lollar and William Lollar.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
