Ronald Stanley was the son of Robert and Frances Attwood of Downing Road, Dagenham, and the brother of Robert, Arthur, Daisy and Edward.

He was born in Stepney on 1st April 1935.

He served as a Rifleman in The King's Royal Rifle Corps, his service number was 22957019.

He was drowned while training in Libya, 5th August 1955 when he was twenty years old, he was unmarried.

As he died while off duty he is not eligable for listing on a war memorial, but he is named on the Roll of Honour.

He is buried in Benghazi British Military Cemetery, Libya, Grave Plot 3, Row A, Grave 13.
