Man of Wonderful Mental
and Physical Vigor

Bristol, Tenn., Feb. 28. - Ira N. Pendleton, a pioneer of Bristol, and one of the best known men of this section, died at his home here this week, at the age of 90 years. He was a man of wonderful mental and physical vigor, and until the last few weeks was able to be on the streets. He married Miss Nancy Young in 1854. A large number of children were born to them, and those surviving are prominent in affairs here and in other states. The survivors are: E. Dudley Pendleton, of St. Louis; Mrs. W. B. Kilgore, J. P. Pendleton, W. S. Pendleton, Beverly Pendleton, and Mrs. J. T. Cecil, and Mrs. B. D. Scott, of Bristol. His sons James, Cyrus, and Bev. established an important jewelry business here and have been prominent in that business for many years. Mr. Pendleton's funeral was conducted from the house Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. J. C. Orr, of State street Methodist church being in charge.
