When 13 years of age he removed with his parents to Decatur county, Iowa. After finishing his education in the public schools here he attended the college of telegraphy at Janesville, Wis., after which he was employed as telegraph operator on the Great Northern at Walhalla, N. Dak., until January 1907 when he returned to Iowa and engaged in farming.
January 15, 1911 he was united in marriage to Bessie Fern Ellers of Decatur, Iowa. To this happy union 12 children were born; Mrs. Juanita Carothers, Clarence, Mo.; Mrs. Mildred Hanlin, Jefferson City; Dorothy; Ollie, Maxine, Geraldine, Pete, Junior, Herschel, Bobby, Dean, Fern Louise, and John Herman.
March 4, 1920 Mr. Reynolds and family moved from Decatur county, Iowa to Macon county, Missouri, where they have since resided. Perry, as he was well and favorably known, was a kind husband and father, a good neighbor, an honorable and upright man.
His sudden passing, so unexpected, as he had appeared in perfect health when he retired Wednesday evening after working as usual all day and visiting with his family in the evening, leaves them stunned and heartbroken by their tragic loss. He also leaves one granddaughter, Aloha Ruth Carothers, his aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Reynolds of Decatur, Iowa, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. L. C. Maggart at Bethlehem Methodist Church at Anabel, of which he had been an active member for the past 12 years. Burial in Bethlehem cemetery.
