James Herbert Scott
James Herbert Scott, 96, of Strafford, a retired carpenter, died this Saturday, February 24, in his home. He was born December 11, 1904. James was a charter member of First Assembly of God Church in Strafford.
He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-one years, Melvina; a son, Kenneth Scott; a sister; and" one great-grandson, Jeffery Lassley. James is survived by two children, Otis Scott and wife Mary Kathryn, of
Strafford, and Verba Hatfield, of Strafford; a daughter-in-law. Betty (Scott) Cox, of Strafford; seven grandchildren,
Kenny Scott, Gary Scott, Beth Lassley, June Scott,
Mike Smith, Craig Smith, and Beverly Walker;
sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several neices and nephews. Services were at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2001, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial in Danforth Cemetery.
