Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Spivey Terrell, widow of the late Joseph M. Terrell, former governor of Georgia and member of the United States senate, who died Monday following a heart attack, were held Tuesday afternoon, Dr. M. Ashby Jones officiating. The services were held at the Ponce de Leon Baptist church. Interment will be at Greenville, Ga., at 10:30 o'clock this morning. The remains were sent there at 4:55 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Terrell made Atlanta her home for many years. She retired from social life after the death of her husband, and devoted her time to charitable and church work. During the world war she was active in Red Cross work.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Spivey, of Greenville; two nephews, W. T. Spivey of Wayne, Pa., and William O. Cantrell, of Atlanta, and two brothers-in-law, Judge J. Render Terrell and DR. E. B. Terrell, of Greenville."
