Bryan Basque, 6, of Shore Road, Eskasoni, passed away suddenly Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Kristen Basque and Bertram Gould, both of Eskasoni.
He was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Bryan was a very active and happy child who played hockey and was a member of East Coast Tae Kwon Do (the Little Dragons). Also during the summer, he was involved in soccer and baseball in the Sydney leagues. He was enrolled in Grade 1 at Eskasoni Elementary School.
Bryan is survived by a brother, Blake, Millbrook; three sisters, Krista, Tori, both of Millbrook, Alayah, Eskasoni; maternal grandmother, Rosie Basque; paternal grandmother, Joanne Poulette and by his special grandmothers, Mary GooGoo, Mary Bridget Paul, Mary Rose Gould (MB2 Mom), Elsie Basque, Kijou Sugar Poulette and by his special grandfather, Papa Charlie; by godparents, Claudia Paul and Nicholas Basque and by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and classmates.
He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Will Basque, paternal grandfather, Francis Poulette, his uncle, Bryan and aunt, Delia Marie Poulette.
Visitation for Bryan Basque will be Thursday after 7 p.m. at the residence of his grandmother Rosie Basque, 4775 Shore Rd. with funeral mass celebrated Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery, Eskasoni.
