SCHAAF, Ruth M. (Stroehle) age 92, of Kettering, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Lincoln Park Manor. Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Carol (John) Wheeler, Anna Marie (Larry) Schoephoerster; sons and daughters-in-law: Robert (Margaret), Albert (Lana), Leo (Connie); 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brothers: Kenneth "Bud" (Betty) Stroehle, William Stroehle; sister: Wanda (William) Wiedman; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Edwin J. Schaaf; son: Sgt. Ronald J. Schaaf; brother: Jerry Stroehle; and sister-in-law: Helen Stroehle. Ruth dedicated over 40 years of volunteer work to the Corner Cupboard Thrift Shop in Dayton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 310 Allen St., Dayton with Reverend Chris Worland Celebrant. Interment will follow Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Kettering. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of both Lincoln Park Manor and Hospice of Dayton for their love and care of Ruth. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Hospice of Dayton or the Corner Cupboard Thrift Shop. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel).
