HORSE KICK IS FATAL TO CHILD
As the result of injuries received when a horse kicked him last week, Raphael Benedict Spalding, young son of Thomas J. and Elizabeth Mattingly Spalding, passed away at the home of his parents near St. Joseph's at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. The accident happened when the little boy and several other children were playing in a field where the horse was kept, near the Spalding home. He lived about a week after the accident. The child was five years old, having been born July 3, 1925. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters and three brothers. Burial took place in St. Joseph's Church Cemetery Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Services were conducted by Rev. F. J. Smith.
