SARA SPALDING DIES AT 79. Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Spalding, 79, died at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 13, at Marian Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a resident three months. Mrs. Spalding, who made her home on Kobert Avenue, was the widow of Thomas Spalding. Her parents were the late Hugh D. Mattingly and Sara Spalding Mattingly. Surviving are four sons, Hugh, Marion, Joseph Aaron and Felix Spalding of Marion County; a daughter, Rebecca Spalding, Louisville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Julian Mudd and Mrs. Theresa Bernicken, St. Mary; seven half-brothers, Hugh, Tommy Lee, Lawrence and Charles, Marion County, Borromeo, John and Preston Mattingly, Louisville; and several grandchildren. The Rev. Ernie Schumacher conducted the funeral at 10 A.M. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Bosley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Henry Cecil, Joseph, Hamilton and Hugh Spalding, Jr., Charles and Fred Mattingly.
