Lt. Ardery was a 30-year veteran of the Oklahoma City Police Department (1951-1981). He was survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Linda Ferguson and son, Olen Ardery, Jr., and daughters, Teresa Ardery-Minton and Shirley Smalley; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral mass was held on Thursday, 3 December 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Moore, OK, conducted by Buchanan Funeral Service, 8717 N. Council Rd., Oklahoma City, OK.
