Daughter of Ignatius Owen Todd (1818 - 1900) & Margaret Ann Reynolds (1823 - 1893) and was the third of seven children. Her father Ignatius was the fourth child of Davis David Todd & Rebecca Burgin and their first born in Missouri after they migrated from Kentucky about 1818.

Minerva married George Bates Jones on 21 Dec 1886 in Morgan Co., Missouri.
