John D. Cook Services Held at Chapel Hill
Services were held Thursday at Chapel Hill Methodist Church for John David Cook, retired farmer of the Chapel Hill community, who died at the Mortfort Jones Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Officiating were the Rev. Frank Hall & the Rev. W.R. Richerson. Burial was in the church cemetery directed by Jordan Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook, who was 81, was a lifelong resident of Attala County. He was the son of the late Matthew & Sarah Allman Cook. He was a member of Chapel Hill church & active for many years in church affairs.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ida Grice Cook, & a son, Billy Cook, both of McCool; 4 daughters, Mrs. Edith Newson, Mrs. Dorothy Corder, Miss Vivian Cook, all of Memphis, & Mrs Bobbie Bailey, Kosciusko; 2 brothers, A.M. Cook & Woodard "Bud" Cook, both of McCool & 5 grandchildren.
