Daniel Newton McQuitty, a former Danville resident, died of paralysis of the brain at 3 o'clock last Sunday morning at the home of his son, Elmer McQuitty, in Broadlands.
Mr. McQuitty was born in Boone County, Mo., 78 years ago, and spent the early part of his life there. Ten years ago, he came to Illinois with his son, with whom he made his home, and lived in Danville five years. He was well-known at Broadlands.
Short funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the home of Elmer McQuitty, after which the remains were taken to Rich Hill, Mo., for burial.

D. M. [sic] McQuitty Dead.
D. M. McQuitty, better known as "Grand-pa" McQuitty, died at the home of his son, Elmer McQuitty, in Danville, Ills., Sunday Jan. 7th. He was in his 80th year, and is survived by six children, all grown, viz., D. M. McQuitty of Macedonia, Calif.; W. J. McQuitty of Ft. Scott, Kans., Mrs. Wm. Swallow of Gold Hill, Colo.; F. E. McQuitty of this city and E. R. McQuitty of Coffeyville, Kans. He also left a number of grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and the funeral will be held at that church in this city, though the funeral arrangements are not yet completed. He was a resident of Rich Hill for about 20 years. The remains are expected to arrive here Wednesday morning.

Funeral of D. N. McQuitty
The remains of D. N. McQuitty, who died at the home of his son in Illinois, arrived this morning and the funeral was held at the Baptist Church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Revs. J. M. Clark and H. G. Buss, and were largely attended. Interment was made in Green Lawn Cemetery directly after the services.
Deceased was aged 76 years two months and four days. Other particulars known to the Review have already been published.
