Services will be held at 10:00 AM, February 9, 2010, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, OK, with Rev. G.W. Howard officiating. Services will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, OK.
Roy was born Wednesday, September 10, 1941 in Marshall, TX, to Oscar T. Shepard and Ollie Maude (Bridger) Shepard. Roy spent many years in the Lubbock, TX area. He lived in the Pauls Valley and Lindsay areas for twenty years before recently moving to Duncan. Roy married Marion Blevins on October 31, 1961 in Lubbock, TX. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1980. Roy work for more than twenty two years for Lubbock Cotton Oil Mill in Lubbock, TX. Roy loved to work painting houses and doing car repair. He enjoyed fishing occasionally. Roy did volunteer work for people in need. He enjoyed going to church when he was able. Roy had a big heart and would help in any way he could at any time.
Survivors include, one daughter, Sherry Shepard of Houston, TX, one granddaughter, Petty Office 2nd Class JenniferGallagher, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba three brothers, Troy Shepard and wife Darlene of Marlow, David Shepard of Long Beach, CA, Carl Shepard of Brownwood, TX, five sisters, Ollie Lavacy of Lubbock, TX, Ruth Ann Pope of Commerce, TX, Effie Latham and husband Gary of Gilmer, TX, Johnnie Williamson of Gladewater, TX, Ruby Ethridge of New Orleans, LA.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bobby Shepard and George Shepard, one sister, Hellen Huffines, step-father, Max Lunsford.
