Tuscumbia - The funeral for Guy Gerald Logan, 55, Route 1, will be at 1 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home chapel, Tuscumbia, with Gilbert Kretzer officiating. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery He died Monday, Feb. 15, 1993, in Tuscumbia after being injured in an automobile accident. He was a native of Colbert County, a retired police chief in Cherokee and worked with the Littleville and Russellville police departments. He was a former employee of U.S. Steel and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, was in the military for six years, and was a member of the National Association of Chiefs of Police. Survivors include a son, Anthony Derrell "Tony" Logan, Florence; mother, Hassie McCaig Logan, Tuscumbia; sister Freida Lindsey, Muscle Shoals; one nephew. Bearers will be Jimmy Brown, Raymond King, Jimmy Hunt, Harold McCaig, John Kennemer and George Metzer. Honoroary bearers will be members of the Florence Police Department and the Colbert County Sheriff's Department. (Published in the Times Daily 2-17-1993)
