Stephen "Steve" Anthony Marino, 66, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in a Fort Smith hospital.

He was a Fort Smith businessman and owned DX and Exxon service stations and S&M Enterprises.

Funeral was at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel of Greenwood with burial at Hartford Memorial Park of Hartford.

He is survived by his wife, Selba; two daughters, Tammy of Fort Smith and Deanna of Texas; two sisters, Stephanie Micco of Newbern, Tenn., and Theresa Alford of Brea, Calif.; and eight grandchildrenMr. Stephen A. "Papa" Marino of Rye Hill, Arkansas, died Thursday, February 4, 2010, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mr. Marion was 66 years, 5 months, and 6 days old. He was the son of the late Joseph and Rafella Marino.
His family moved to San Pedro, California and he attended Mary Star of the Sea Catholic School. He went on to graduate from San Pedro High School. Mr. Marino attended the Los Angles Trade Technical School. There he met and later married his high school sweetheart Selba jean Blaylock.
The couple meoved to Arkansas in 1967.

Mr. Marino loved the world of automobiles, especially racing cards, in earlier years when he was a member of Strollers Car Club in San Pedro, Calif. He owned a DX Station and Exxon Station in Fort Smith along with several other businesses. In later years he opened S & M Enterprises for computer education and assembly to supply all his grandchildren with their own, until cancer entered his life in 19996. He was a member of the Men's Wednesday Night Cancer Support Group and after winning three battles with cancer over the next 15 years, enjoyed spending all his free time with his grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
Mr. Marino was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph (Giuseppee) Nardo Marino and Raffella Theresa Graro Marion; a maternal grandmother: Theresa (Nana) DiGangi of Naples, Italy; and his mother-in-law Genell Fern Blaylock.
He is survived his wife of over 46 years: Selba Blaylock Marino of the home; his youngest daughter: Deanna and husband, Rusty of Texas; his eldest daughter: Tammy and husband, Terry Benton of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two sisters: Stephanie Micco of Newbern, Tenn. and Theresa and husband, Jim Alford of Brea, Calif.; and eight grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua, Summer, Greg, Even, Mason, Lacy and Checotah.

Funeral of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel, in Greenwood, Arkansas. Rev. Edward Pererira D'Almeida officiated the services. Mr. Marino was laid to rest at Hartford Memorial Park Cemetery in Hartford, Arkansas.
