James had been fighting a courageous battle with cancer for several months. He was born February 20, 1930 in Homer, Indiana , the son of Fred William and Marie Krammas Freeman. He moved to Connersville with his family at the age of four and attended Connersville Schools, graduating from the Connersville High School. On April 11, 1953, he was married in Connersville to Wanda Lee White. In the following years they had four sons, Nick, Jim, Scott and Billy and enjoyed raising their family. James and Wanda were experiencing their semi-retirement years with grandchildren and great-grandchildren until Wanda's death on June 15, 2001. James was formerly employed at Design & Manufacturing in Connersville and their successor, White's Consolidated Industries and following his retirement, worked at Jim's Auto Body in Connersville, first as a mechanic and later assisting in customer service.
