REIDSVILLE - Harris S. Durrence,
71, died Thursday at Memorial Medical
Center in Savannah after a short illness.
The Tattnall County native was a
member of Pineview Baptist Church and
a retired employee of Georgia State
Highway Department with 34 years of
service.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. OIeta J.
Durrence; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra
Todd, both of Reidsville; five sons, Aubrey,
Dale and Joe Durrence, all of
Reidsville, Terry Durrence of Vidalia
and David Durrence of Savannah; four
sisters, Mrs. Mollie Weathers of Glennville,
Mrs. Katherine Baxter of Ludowici,
Mrs. Norma James of Charlotte, N.C.,
and Mrs. Joyce Todd of Claxton; four
brothers, Willie, Alvo, Elvis and Cyril
Durrence, all of Glennville; 13 grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Saturday at Pineview
Baptist Church, burial in church cemetery.
