Dick was born April 26, 1943, in Fuget, Kentucky to the late Fonzie and Mabel Cantrell. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dick always put his family first. Most people will remember him for his great love of hunting, fishing and bow shooting. He truly enjoyed the outdoors.

Dick started Movies Unlimited in 1983 in Safford, and he met lots of people who soon became his friends. He later was the manager of Town and Country Wood Stoves and Spas that also served as the Polaris ATV dealership, better known as Big Boys Toys, which was right down Dick's alley.
Dick's main occupation throughout his life was that of the construction of quality built homes and commercial buildings.

Dick is survived by his wife, Judy of Safford; two sons, Richard Cantrell (Kim) of Kentucky and Tony Cantrell (Charlene) of West Virginia; his daughter, Tracy Anderson (Tracy) of Delaware, Ohio; his mother, Mabel Cantrell of Kentucky; two brothers, Ollie Cantrell (Rhonda) of Coolidge and Robert Cantrell of Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Cassie Curtis (Michael) of Thatcher, Chase Cantrell (Kate), of Pope AFB, N.C., Cordell Ryan and Hayley and Jennelea Cantrell of Safford, Zac Cantrell of West Virginia, Bobbie and Gabby Blevins of Delaware, Ohio; two great-grandchildren; his best friend, Jaryn Michael Curtis; and his little princess, Ainsley Cantrell; four step grandchildren, David, Vergie and Renee Jordan and Cheyenne Colley; six step great-grandchildren, Emma Cantrell, Katelyn and Hanna Curtis, Corbin and Gavin Jordan.

Dick was preceded in death by his father, Fonzie; his sister, Judy Castle; and his father and mother in-law, Jim and Marjorie Bright.

Arrangements were entrusted to Vining Funeral Home in Safford, Arizona and Paintsville Funeral Home in Paintsville, Kentucky.
