Clark E. Alkire 66, Stilesville, IN, died July 15, 2006. He was born October 31, 1939 in Lafayette, IN to Russell Alkire and Iris (Crane) Alkire.

Mr. Alkire was a member of Fairfield Friends Meeting, Cloud Niners Flying Club, Indianapolis Ski Club, Indianapolis American Legion, Christmas Tree and Bramble Growers Associations and the Indiana Farm Market Association. Clark owned and operated Alkire Acres for 10 years. He was also a construction superintendent and engineer for White Construction Co. in Clinton, IN for 27 years. He also worked for H.E. Henderson Construction in Martinsville, IN for one year. He retired in 2005.

Mr. Alkire served in the Army and was a 1957 graduate of Goodland High School in Goodland, IN. He then attended Purdue, Indianapolis extension.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville, IN, with calling there from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 and one hour prior to service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Camby, IN.

He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Eric Alkire.

Survivors include spouse, Emma (Borem) Alkire of Stilesville, IN; daughters, April (Bob) Stevens of Monrovia, Anita (Brad) Hickam of Avon; grandchildren, Andrew and Steven Hickam and Robby, Nicholas and Zachary Stevens; sisters, Marsha Hufty of Lafayette, IN, Gloria Gilman of Brooklyn, IN; brother, Mavlin Alkire of Kentland, IN
