Merlye Henry Raph was born March 2, 1904 in Grange Twp., Pipestone County, Minn., to Arthur and Cora Raph. He lived in Grange Twp. his entire life. He was united in marriage to Elsie Schierholz on March 24, 1933, at Brookings, South Dakota. He passed away on October 19, 1959 due to an auto accident near St. Cloud, Minn. He reached the age of 55 years, 7 months, 17 days.
Mr. Raph is survived by his wife; one son, Eldo of Shelby, Montana; one daughter, (Carol) Mrs. Harvey Zeinstra of Pipestone; his mother, Mrs. Cora Raph of Pipestone; two brothers, Elmer of Pipestone and Roy of Pine River, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Griebel and Mrs. Walter Litka of Pipestone; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers.
