Late Rites Held For Otto Schierholz Oct. 20
Funeral services for Otto Schierholz were held at the Danish Lutheran Church at Ruthton at 2 o'clock Wednesday, Oct. 20, conducted by Rev. Eilert C. Nielsen. Mrs. Bob Phillips and Mrs. Sigurd Pedersen sang two songs accompanied by Mrs. William Petersen. Interment was at the cemetery at Ruthton.

The following gentlemen, cousins of the deceased, acted as pallbearers: Herman, Eldo and Christian Kalas of Slayton, Louie Hinz of Trosky and Vernie and Orlan Schuldt of Pipestone.

Otto John Albert Schierholz was born June 17th, 1908, at Belle Plain, Iowa, and was 40 years, 4 months and 1 day at the time of his death. He had been in poor health since childhood where as a young boy he was bucked off of a horse and had a spinal injury which left him bed ridden. His death occurred unexpectedly at 7:00 A.M. October 18th at Faribault where he had been confined in a hospital for the last 3 years. His father Eldo A. Schierholz preceded him in death.

Nearest surviving relatives are his mother, Mrs. Anna Schierholz of Elkton, S.D., 4 brothers, William of Pipestone, John of Iowa, Henry of Summit, S.D. and Julius at home, and 3 sisters, Mrs. Fay Clark (Anna) of Elkton, S.D., Mrs. Meryle Raph (Elsie) of Holland and Mrs. Alvin Beiver (Emma) of Tyler.

Other relatives who attended: Mrs. Emma Kalas, Mrs. Herman Kalas and children of Slayton, Mr. and Mrs. John Hinz and Mrs. Louis Hinz of Trosky, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schuldt, Mrs Vernie Schult, Mrs. Brockberg and Mrs. Evans of Pipestone, Mr. and Mrs. Emiel Wittrock, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Wittrock of Hartley, Iowa.
