LUNGMOTOR IS CALLED
"Due to Apoplexy," Verdict of Coroner's Jury.
David L. Eberly, the well known carriage and automobile trimmer, died at about 5.30 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home, 270 West Packard street. His death was sudden and wholly unexpected. He was apparently in his usual good health when he retired shorty after 10.30 Monday night.
LUNGMOTOR CALLED
Mrs. Eberly was lying awake between 5 and 5.30 o'clock Tuesday morning when suddenly her husband groaned and began to struggle. She rubbed him and worked with him for a few minutes but he remained unconscious and she called a physician, but Mr. Eberly was dead in a few minutes. The city lung motor was called, but the man could not be revived. Coroner Elmer O. Brintlinger held an inquest Tuesday morning. The verdict was that death was due to apoplexy.
Mr. Eberly's age was sixty-one years, two months and twenty days. He was born at Lewistown, Pa., Aug. 11, 1855. He came to Decatur thirty-nine years ago, and has been here ever since. He worked as a carriage trimmer until the advent of the automobile and since then has been employed in painting and trimming automobiles. He was an expert in his line. He was well known and had many friends. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. Mr. Eberly is survived by his wife and three children, William M. Eberly of Shippensburg, Pa, Mrs. Ed Odor of Decatur and Emmet W. Eberly of Cincinnati, O.
