Funeral services were held for Mrs. Ed (Hazel) Baker, 78, of Coon Rapids Sept. 9 at the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids. She is a former resident of Spirit Lake and died Sept. 6. The Rev. Mark Sullivan officiated and burial was in Coon Rapids Cemetery. Mrs. Roswell Jordan and Mrs. Delbert Ford were the vocalists accompanied by Mrs. Paul Nelson. Pallbearers were Donald Smouse, Ralph Hoover, Delmar Johnson, Otis Teter, Frank Beach, and Leonard Lamprecht.

Hazel Yager was born Aug. 15, 1890 at Coon Rapids to Clabe and Ella Yager. She married Ed Baker March 17, 1910. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 1960. Mrs. Baker was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids.

She is survived by two sons, Daryl and Duane of Coon Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Les (Geneva) Miner of Anita, Maxine Lurkins, and Darline Beckman of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four sisters. She was preceded by her parents and one brother.

Those attending the funeral from this area were Mr. and Mrs. John Baker, Mrs. W. O. Baker, Mrs. Neil Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gilmore, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Froendt, Robert Browning, Mrs. Wm. Froendt, Mrs. Fred Sorensen, all of Spirit Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Guge of Estherville.
