OBITUARY: LINNA [HAMILTON] PIPER

Decatur County Journal

July 20, l905



MRS. LINNA PIPER, wife of HARRY PIPER, died at her home in Davis City, July l3, l905. The funeral services were held in the Union Church on the following Friday, Rev. Bingaman officiating. Interment occurred in the new city cemetery. The deceased was followed to her last resting place by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends.
MRS. PIPER was a daughter of JOHN HAMILTON and was born in l88l near Davis City. She was married to HARVEY PIPER in December, l900. She had been sick for several months with the dread disease, consumption, but ever bore her sufferings with patience and fortitude that showed with her all was well. She leaves a husband, parents, several brothers and sisters and a large circle of sorrowing friends to mourn the loss of one who was ever bright and cheerful, kind and loving; ever ready at any time to lighten the cares of others.



Oh, weep not for the loved one,

So rudely from thee driven;

'Tis but a flower too good for earth

Transplanted into Heaven.
