PFC Alton B. Cornish
The body of PFC Alton B. Cornish, who was killed in action on January 31, 1944 will arrive in Oneonta Thursday. Private Cornish served in Italy with the 36th Engineers in World War Two. He was the youngest son of Henry and Anna (Doolittle) Cornish.
A funeral service, in charge of the American Legion Post, will be held at the Milford Cemetery Friday at 2. Rev. Philip Pitcher, pastor of the Milford Methodist Church will officiate.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. George F. Cooper; Four brothers, Horace P. and Willard H. of Milford; Douglas C. of Albany, and Norman D. of Albany; a half-brother, Harold Doolittle of Cherry Valley and his grandmother, Mrs. George Cornish of Schenevus.
